This may sound like a lot, but you’d be surprised at how quickly you’ll need to act when and if you get stuck in cold, snowy, icy weather:

    • Attachable spikes for your boots
    • Top quality snow boots with excellent tread
    • Several pairs of thick gloves that fit well and allow you to easily grip tools
    • Ski mask
    • Heavy winter jacket
    • Coveralls
    • Long underwear
    • Insulated socks
    • Insulated sleeping bag
    • Non-perishable food and water (ex: granola bars, protein bars, and two gallons of water)
    • Propane heater and lighter
    • Cell phone and charger

Winter Supplies Kit For Your Truck: Essential Big Rig Supplies For Safe Winter Driving

  • Heavy duty steel shovel
  • Kitty litter (for tire traction)
  • Tire chains — preferably automatic ones
  • Jumper cables
  • Door lock de-icer
  • Long handle ice scraper for windshield
  • Standard tools — hammer, wrenches, screwdrivers
  • Benzo torch
  • Fuel conditioner
  • Methyl hydrate (to pour onto fuel and air lines to help melt the ice)
  • Extra fuel filters
  • Windshield washer fluid
 with de-icer mixed in
